All of our Jock Yoga teachers have completed a bare minimum 200hr yoga teacher certification and have completed JYU (Jock Yoga University) with Michael DeCorte. Our team of teachers can be found around Toronto teaching many Jock Yoga classes at several yoga and fitness centres.
Amongst Jacqui’s many passions in life, her interest in the human body and how it functions both physically and psycho-spiritually grows with each new day. Her interest in sport and movement began at a young age - Jacqui has always been very athletic participating in various sports, and has extensive background in dance performance and choreography. Jacqui entered her first yoga class 12 years ago. Her passion for which continually grows, practicing and teaching yoga daily throughout the city of Toronto. Jacqui began working along side Michael DeCorte almost 5 year ago and has been teaching Jock Yoga for the last three years. Jacqui is also a Shiatsu Therapist and Registered Holistic Nutritionist and has been a practising member in the holistic health care industry in Toronto for 10 plus years. Jacqui acts as the Anatomy Teacher at the Jock Yoga teacher trainings, sharing her knowledge of the body and how it functions with all the Jock Yoga (JYU) Teacher Trainees. From pranayama to chi flow, chakra to chaturunga, probiotics to Chinese medicine, Jacqui brings to you a medley of tools and knowledge. She always works from her heart with a sincere desire to assist others in making a real difference in how their body functions, while working on the spiritual aspect in relation to the daily lives they lead. Jacqui can be found teaching Hatha, Vinyasa (any level) and Jock Yoga at various locations throughout the city of Toronto; Equinox Club, Hard Candy Fitness, Track Fitness, Moksha Yoga Uptown, System Fitness Beaches, Conteur Dance Academy, and The Yorkville Club.
Currently working within a team of health care practitioners as a Kinesiologist, using his Yoga training to develop customized active rehabilitative programs for a variety of patients. Sal has many homes downtown; practicing out of My Energy x Change, Alpha Obstacle training, Misfit studio and The Yoga Lounge. As a competitive basketball player for several years, I stayed busy growing up playing many different sports and dedicating many hours to the gym. As a result I have always placed a strong emphasis on health and fitness. Earning a degree in Community Health and Education, I cultivated a unique perspective on empowering an individual to improve the health of a community. Inspired by my father to constantly improve the body and the mind, I became very passionate in my yoga practice, as it challenged me both physically and mentally.Practicing yoga for more than 2 years and teaching for a year, I knew yoga was my calling. Completing a 200 hour YTT (Yoga Teacher Training) in Tofino, BC with renowned Yogi, Eoin Finn, who is the founder of the Blissology Movement. As well my Jock Yoga Certification was completed in Downtown Toronto at Equinox Gyms with local Toronto Yogi, Michael DeCorte, founder of Jock Yoga.
Jessica Darzinskas Jessica is a Toronto based yoga teacher who instructs Hatha, Vinyasa, Power Flow and Jock Yoga. Driven by Asana love and journeying to spiritual enlightenment, Jessica creates dynamic classes that will make you sweat, stretch, and love your practice. After retiring from gymnastics, yoga became a means to maintain the flexibility and strength. After 7 years of practice, she decided she wanted to share her passion. As a yoga instructor, Jessica's goal is to help her students find a practice that reinforces any workout regime, restore and maintain a youthful state of mobility in the mind and body.
Lisa Davidson is an Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Instructor and runner. Lisa was introduced to the world of health and fitness at a young age when she ran on her school track team and started dancing. After many years of competing in dance, she turned professional and performed with a variety of companies around the world. Once Lisa said goodbye to her performing days, she fell in love with yoga and fell back in love with running. Lisa's passion for yoga brought her to Downward Dog where she completed her teacher certification. More recently. Lisa was certified to teach Jock Yoga by its founder Michael DeCorte. Drawing on her enthusiasm for running, yoga and dance, in Lisa's classes you can expect to work up a sweat, build your strength and increase your stamina. In addition to teaching athletically challenging classes, Lisa also enjoys teaching yoga specifically for runners. Lisa believes in the importance of both a mental and physical well-being for leading a happy and healthy life. When she is not on the mat or hitting the pavement to train for her next race, Lisa strives to inspire others to live a healthy lifestyle, starting with her son.
